Family/Child
Care
Full-time, Part-time & Temporary Placements
Family Assistants:
A Step Above a Nanny! These are
caregivers who help with all of your family needs.
Not only will they care for the children in the
family but they will care for you as well, helping
with daily tasks such as light housekeeping,
laundry, errands and more. Family Assistants
generally work 30+ hours per week on a permanent
schedule.
Nannies:
Nannies care only for children and child related
household needs. Their duties include taking care of
your child in your absence. Such care includes
feeding, bathing, changing diapers, maintaining a
routine, planning play dates, putting your child
down for naps, driving them to and from school or
other activities and ensuring the well-being and
health of your child. Nannies typically work 20+
hours per week.
Mother's Helpers:
Typically, the role of a Mother's Helper is held by
young women who may aspire to move into other child
care positions in the future. A growing use of a
Mother's Helper is for parents who telecommute (work
from home), home-school children, or have a
home-based business. A Mother's Helper usually has
babysitting experience, but does not yet qualify to
be a Nanny. They generally work 10+hours each week.
Mothers-Helping-Mothers: What better
experience can a Nanny have than to also be a
Mother! Our Mothers Helping Mothers program matches
your Family with a Mother-Nanny who has a
child/children around the same age as yours. These
nannies do all of the same work as a Family
Assistant/Nanny. Because they are able to bring
their child to work with them they save childcare
fees of their own and will typically pass that
savings on to the families they work for by charging
a slightly lower rate.
